AirPlay iOS mirroring in public beta

Update: App v3.1 was released December 22, 2017. With this release, you can enable the AirPlay and Color Picker features from the Airtame app. As the blog post below explains, these features were previously only accessible from our Airtame Cloud platform.

After months of research, development, and testing, we’re happy to share an exciting public beta release we think you’re going to like too: Airplay iOS mirroring.

That’s right, with our latest 3.1 product update, you can now try full screen mirroring to Airtame from your iPads and iPhones. As if that wasn’t enough, our 3.1 update also includes new color customization for the Airtame home screen.

AirPlay iOS mirroring

Ready to try iOS mirroring? Once you have updated to the latest firmware, go to device settings in Airtame Cloud to activate AirPlay functionality.

You will see your Airtame on the list of available devices for screen mirroring from your iPad and iPhone. You can also mirror to Airtame from your favorite iOS apps (Keynote, PowerPoint, Photos, and more).

Casting from the YouTube app

When you turn on AirPlay from within the YouTube app, the video will cast to the Airtame instead of mirroring. This means that Airtame will not show the mirrored iPad or iPhone screen, but only show the video file. The benefit of this is that you will see the video in full screen without a progress bar or other buttons crowding the display.

Presenting from Keynote and PowerPoint

With AirPlay iOS mirroring, you can also show your presentations directly from Keynote and PowerPoint. The great thing is you will be able to see presenter notes on your phone while presenting.

Color Picker for Airtame’s home screen

In the previous 3.0 update, we introduced customization of the text and layout of the Airtame home screen. After hearing your thoughts on this functionality, we’ve now given you even more control over your beautiful screens.

You can now customize the colors of the home screen overlay and text.

Choose your own text color or change the color of the guide overlay, the choice is all yours. You can also adjust the transparency of the overlay. This last addition is perfect if you want to use one of the bigger guide overlays on the home screen but you don’t want to cover up your nice background image.

This feature is currently only available in device settings on Airtame Cloud, but you can expect it to become available from the app in the next update.
