Behind the Screens is a video series where we sit down with people from inside Airtame to work through the questions we hear most. For episode four, we asked Phillip Hornehøj, Director of Sales Operations and Customer Success, to break down everything you need to know about Airtame Go — Airtame’s most affordable solution.

The most affordable way to get the largest part of the Airtame experience

Airtame Go is a full solution: an Amazon signage stick, pre-loaded with Airtame software, an Ethernet adapter, a 3-year Core license, and a 3-year warranty. Plug it in, scan a QR code, and it’s an Airtame.

What the Core license includes:

Screen sharing from any device: Chromebook, iPad, Windows, Android, phone

Digital signage: run Canva, Google Slides, Power BI in 4K, indefinitely

Emergency alerts: configured via Airtame Cloud

Remote management: zero-touch deployment, manage every screen from your desk

A few more things worth knowing:

It’s commercial grade: Built to run 24/7, not five hours of Netflix.

It doesn’t brick after three years: Screen sharing and basic cloud management stay on even without a renewed license — unlike some vendors in the market.

It supports Miracast and AirPlay: No app required. Windows K or the AirPlay button on a Mac, and you’re connected.

Enterprise Wi-Fi is supported: WPA2 and WPA3 Enterprise, developed in direct partnership with Amazon based on customer feedback.

It’s not for hybrid meeting rooms: If you need video conferencing with a camera, speaker, and microphone setup, you’ll need Airtame 3 or a Virtual Airtame solution.

Outside of education, it makes sense anywhere you need screen sharing or signage without the full conferencing setup — meeting rooms, huddle rooms, cafeterias, canteens, digital signage screens.

Behind the Screens is a video series where we sit down with people from inside Airtame to work through the questions we hear most. For episode three, we asked David Butler, Senior Sales Engineer and network specialist, to explain what good network hygiene actually looks like — and what tends to get skipped during setup that causes problems later.

Good news: most network problems are easily preventable

A poorly configured network has a way of creeping up on IT rather than making a big announcement. It shows up as lag, a dropped screen share, or a call cutting out mid-presentation. Many won’t think of it as network problems at first, but there’s a great chance your network is the actual culprit.

David’s checklist for getting ahead of it:

Monitor proactively. If you only find out something’s wrong when users call in, you’re already behind. A network monitoring system tells you what’s happening before they do.

Don’t skip QoS. Quality of Service determines how urgently different traffic gets treated. Screen sharing is time-sensitive. Configure your network — and your wired switches — to treat it that way. The specific setting to look for: DSCP, or Differentiated Services Code Point. One or two configuration lines on a switch. Frequently skipped. Frequently the culprit.

Segment your network. Teachers, students, guests, AV equipment — separate groups, separate networks. More work upfront, far less troubleshooting later.

Avoid DFS channels if you’re near an airport, military base, or weather station. External signals can force access points to temporarily shut down mid-presentation. Switching to non-DFS channels often resolves it immediately.

The field story David shares in the full episode is worth watching for alone. It involves a school, a misconfigured spanning tree, a lot of blinking access points, and a very relieved front office staff on the way out.

Watch the full conversation right here:

IT Directors managing screens across a school or workplace share a familiar story: too many rooms, too many support tickets, and a patchwork of tools that don’t talk to each other. Getting it under control takes hours. Sometimes daily.

Airtame Go is the entry point for fixing that — at the most affordable price point in the entire Airtame fleet.

Here’s a plain-English breakdown of what it is, what it does well, and where Airtame 3 is the better call.

What Airtame Go actually is

Airtame Go is the combination of proven Amazon commercial display hardware and an Airtame Core software license — bundled into one product, managed from one dashboard, at the lowest price point per screen on a 3-year term.

The Amazon Signage Stick inside is built for 24/7 continuous operation: stable, reliable, and thermally designed for the kind of always-on environments schools and workplaces actually run. Airtame’s software sits on top of that hardware and turns it into a fully managed screen — one you control remotely, update automatically, and monitor from anywhere.

What it does well

Screen sharing from any device. Windows, macOS, Chromebook, iOS, Android — Airtame Go handles them all without cables, extra dongles, or driver installations. Users share from the Airtame app or directly from a browser at airtame.com/go. Fewer IT tickets and a lot less friction.

Native casting protocols. AirPlay and Miracast are supported on Airtame Go, meaning iOS and macOS users can share natively via AirPlay without downloading anything. Windows users can connect via Miracast the same way. For rooms where teachers or employees just want to walk in and share, (no app, no pairing code) this is what makes that possible.

Digital signage and emergency alerts, centrally managed. Update signage playlists across every screen in the building from Airtame Cloud — without touching a single device. Emergency alerts broadcast campus-wide in seconds. Reboot schedules, sleep timers, and firmware updates run automatically in the background.

Real IT time savings. IT teams using Airtame have reported going from roughly two hours of screen-related support per day down to around fifteen minutes per week. The reson? Central management. Mass operations — such as configuration changes, updates, monitoring — happen from one place rather than room by room.

4K resolution. Screen sharing and signage both run at full 4K.

Where it’s the right fit — and where it isn’t

Airtame Go is best for schools and organizations that need reliable screen sharing, digital signage, and cloud management at the most accessible price point in the Airtame lineup. It’s a particularly natural step for teams already running Airtame 2 who want to expand or replace without a full platform change.

A few honest caveats worth knowing before you buy:

Network setup: Ethernet with the included adapter is recommended. Airtame Go supports both personal WiFi (WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Personal) and enterprise WiFi networks (WPA2/3-Enterprise), so it fits most school and workplace network environments.

No video conferencing. Airtame Go covers screen sharing, digital signage, and emergency alerts. If you need built-in video conferencing, Airtame 3 Hybrid is the right product.

No dual screen support. Single display only.

If your rooms need video conferencing or dual screen setup, look at Airtame 3.

What happens after the 3-year license

We know this one matters for a lot of our customers. When the Airtame Core license expires, screen sharing and basic remote management stay active. You’re not left with what’s sometimes called a ‘brick’, which is just a way to describe an unusable piece of hardware. That’s a meaningful difference from competing products that go dark when subscriptions lapse or where you have to return hardware — and it significantly reduces the procurement risk for organizations with long planning horizons.

The bottom line

Airtame Go is for schools and workplaces that want screens to work — reliably, centrally managed, and without a support burden — at the most affordable entry point in the Airtame platform.

If that matches your brief, take a look at Airtame Go for education or Airtame Go for business.

        return match ? decodeURIComponent(match[1]) : null;

Behind the Screens is a video series where we sit down with people from inside Airtame to work through the questions we hear most. For episode two, we asked Simon, Chief Product Officer, to get into one of the most common frustrations in hybrid work: why BYOD consistently breaks down the moment you move from your desk into a meeting room.

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) is an umbrella term for using your personal device in a work setting. In a meeting room context, it typically means connecting your laptop to the room’s screen, camera, microphone, and speakers, then running the call from it. Sometimes you’re connected via cable. It means your device carries the full load, which works fine at your desk. In a meeting room, it’s a different story.

At Airtame, we use the term differently. BYOD means you can walk in with any device — laptop, phone, tablet — and start a meeting. But your device never carries the call. That load stays on dedicated hardware built into the room. Your device is just the remote control. This distinction is what we talked about in episode 002 of Behind the screens.

The meeting is only as good as the device running it

In a standard BYOD setup, one laptop is responsible for everything: the call, the screen, the audio, the video. The moment that device struggles, the whole room will be impacted.

Performance. If the laptop is under load — too many tabs, a slow processor, competing applications — the call degrades for everyone in the room and everyone remote.

Battery. Running Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet drains a battery fast. If the charging cable on the table isn’t delivering power, the meeting stops when the battery does.

Network. The call runs over the laptop’s Wi-Fi connection, not the room’s infrastructure. If the signal is weak, the people on the far end of the call feel it first.

Setup friction. Before the meeting even starts, someone has to plug in, select the right camera, microphone, and speaker, and hope everything connects. That’s a lot to put on the person who just walked in the door.

Control. If that person has to leave mid-meeting, everything has to be handed over manually to someone else’s laptop — and the whole process starts again.

Some vendors market wireless dongles or receivers as a solution — sometimes called BYOM, Bring Your Own Meeting. The idea is that you connect wirelessly to the room’s camera, microphone, and speakers instead of plugging in. But the connection method isn’t the problem. Wired or wireless, the call still runs on your personal device. Going wireless just removes the cable and adds latency and compression on top of the same underlying issue.

Component prices are rising across the industry and budgets are getting squeezed. Airtame Go is our answer: a complete, ready-to-go package built around the Amazon signage stick that brings the core Airtame experience to any space for a much lower price.

New addition to the Airtame portfolio makes it easier than ever to get started with professional screen technology, without compromise on manageability or experience

Copenhagen, Denmark — April 21, 2026 — Airtame, the Danish company behind the platform that makes screens easy to use in schools and workplaces, today announced the launch of Airtame Go — a new addition to its growing product portfolio designed to bring the full Airtame experience to more spaces, at a significantly lower price point.

Airtame Go delivers wireless screen sharing, digital signage, emergency alerts, and remote device management all through the Airtame platform — the same software that powers Airtame deployments across thousands of schools and organizations worldwide.

For education, Airtame Go offers a fast, cost-effective path to connected classrooms and open spaces. Teachers can share wirelessly from any device. Digital signage keeps hallways and common areas current. Emergency alerts keep campuses safe. And IT admins manage every screen from Airtame Cloud — remotely, at scale, without touching a single device on-site.

For business, the same capabilities translate directly to meeting rooms, reception areas, and shared workspaces. Airtame Go gives IT teams a manageable, centrally controlled entry point into the Airtame platform, with the option to expand capability as needs grow.

Screen technology made even more accessible

The launch of Airtame Go reflects a broader evolution in how Airtame thinks about screen technology. Where traditional AV vendors lead with hardware, Airtame’s strength has always been its platform: a single cloud-based system that lets IT teams deploy, manage, and update every screen in their environment — regardless of what’s behind the display.

“Most organizations already have screens. What they’re missing is a consistent, manageable experience across all of them. That’s what Airtame provides — and Airtame Go makes it easier and more affordable than ever to get started.” said Jonas Gyalokay, Co-Founder of Airtame.

Airtame hardware is not a prerequisite for the Airtame experience. Virtual Airtame, the company’s software tier, runs on supported Windows and Android-based displays, bringing any compatible screen into a single, centrally managed environment. The result is a unified experience across an organization’s entire screen fleet, whatever hardware it runs on. For rooms that require full video conferencing capability, Airtame 3 and/or a Hybrid software license is the natural next step.

About Airtame

Airtame is a Danish technology company that makes it easy to share, present, and manage content on screens in schools and workplaces. Its platform combines wireless
screen sharing, digital signage, remote management, video conferencing, and emergency alerts in one cloud-managed system — working across devices, operating systems, and display types. Airtame is used by organizations in more than 100 countries.

Behind the screens is a new video series where we sit down with people from inside Airtame to work through the questions we hear most from schools and IT teams. For episode one, we asked Jonas Gyalokay, co-founder, to talk through total cost of ownership in education — what classroom screen technology actually costs over time, and where schools tend to get caught out.

The costs schools consistently underestimate

Most purchasing decisions in education start and end with the budget line. A screen, a device, a license — priced, approved, ordered. What that process rarely accounts for is the three to five years that follow.

Training is the one Jonas flagged first. It’s not a one-off. Every product update, every new staff member, every substitute teacher standing in front of a display they’ve never used before — that’s time, and time has a cost. The more complex the solution, the more that number grows.

Installation is rarely just plug-and-play at scale. Deploying across dozens or hundreds of classrooms takes people and hours, and sometimes surfaces infrastructure gaps (Wi-Fi capacity being the most common) that nobody planned for.

Ongoing management doesn’t end at deployment. Support tickets, firmware updates, remote troubleshooting. Or worse, site visits. IT teams absorb this cost quietly, and it adds up over a three- to five-year cycle.

License terms are worth reading carefully. Some vendors disable hardware entirely when a subscription lapses. Others, Airtame among them, retain basic functionality. It’s the kind of detail that rarely comes up during the sales process and matters a lot when the contract is up for renewal.

End-of-life has a cost too, particularly for leased hardware. When the relationship ends, the equipment has to come back. Uninstalling and returning devices across a whole school estate is real operational work.

If any of this sounds familiar, it’s unsurprising — because it’s one of the conversations we constantly see pop up in this space. In the full episode, Jonas goes deeper on what the buying process actually looks like in education; who makes the call, where the frustration usually starts, and what a more transparent vendor conversation could look like.

Barcelona has a way of raising the bar. ISE 2026 was bigger than ever with a staggering and record-breaking number of attendants (92,170 visitors, to be exact) — and for Airtame, it came at exactly the right moment.

Since announcing Airtame 3 in December 2025, we’ve been on the road. FETC, TCEA, IETA — show after show, we’ve had the chance to meet hundreds of partners and customers face to face and hear what’s actually on their minds. ISE was the crescendo. We came home with a clearer read on where the industry is heading, two awards we’re genuinely proud of, and a lot to think about.

Let’s get into it.

What the show floor was telling us

1. The end user is finally at the center

Across booths and conversations at ISE and at every stop on the road this season, the same question kept coming up: does it actually work for the person in the room? That mindset was everywhere, and we feel it’s long overdue. We’ve built our entire platform around it, so it was good to see the rest of the industry catching up. Though Jonas Gyalokay, our Co-founder, will be the first to raise an eyebrow at how long it’s taken. “It’s encouraging to see the conversation shift,” he said, “but the gap between saying ‘experience first’ and actually delivering it is still wider than it should be. That’s exactly where we’ve always played.”

2. BYOD is having a real moment

BYOD (bring your own device) isn’t a new idea. But the demand for setups that truly support it without workarounds or restrictions was louder than what we’ve heard before. People are done tolerating room tech that only plays nicely with one operating system or one approved laptop model. Oh, and when we say BYOD, we of course mean wireless BYOD.

Airtame has been hardware-agnostic and platform-agnostic since day one. We support AirPlay, Miracast, Google Cast, and our own app — so whoever walks into the room, whatever they’re carrying, it just works. That’s not a new message from us, but it’s becoming the message the whole industry is converging on. One press outlet covering the show called our booth “the zeitgeist of the moment.” We’ll take it.

The awards

We came home with two recognitions we’re very proud of. Not because awards are the point, but because they reflect something real.

Best of Show — Systems Contractor News (SCN): The SCN Best of Show award is one of the most respected recognitions in the AV industry. The judge’s comment said it best:“A very neat little product that could fit behind any screen. I really like the cloud capabilities for such a small device.” Read more about the SCN Best of Show award

Top New Technology (TNT) Award — Commercial Integrator / CE Pro: The TNT Award recognizes standout innovation across the commercial AV and integration space. Airtame 3 was honored in the video streaming solution category, which is a nice nod to the performance and versatility we’ve packed into a device that still fits in the palm of your hand. See the full list of TNT Award winners

Jonas put it simply: “Winning recognition at ISE is meaningful, of course it is. But what I’m most proud of is that both awards reflect what we’ve always cared about; making screen tech that actually works for the people using it. That’s the only metric that matters to us.”

Until next time

ISE 2026 reinforced something we already believed: the industry is moving toward simplicity, openness, and putting people before hardware. To us, that’s not a trend, but how we build our product.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booths, shared feedback, asked tough questions, or simply wanted to see Airtame 3 in action. We’re just getting started, and we’re looking forward to what the rest of the year brings.

Walk through most office buildings and you’ll see screens. Mounted in lobbies. Hung in hallways. Sitting idle in meeting rooms. But instead of sharing real-time insights or important updates, they’re often looping outdated slideshows or worse — turned off completely.

These screens could be doing so much more.

Done right, digital signage is a powerful internal comms tool. It helps people stay informed, aligned, and connected across locations. It cuts through the noise of crowded inboxes. It makes spaces feel alive, not static. So how to get it right? Making it as easy to manage as it is to watch.

The missed opportunity

Most businesses already have the physical infrastructure: the displays, the internet connection, the wall space. But the content strategy — and the tools to support it — often lag behind.

You see it in:
<div

Screens that show the same PowerPoint loop from 2022

Static signs taped beside doors instead of updated room signage

Important updates still being emailed (and ignored) rather than displayed visibly

Lobby screens running news tickers that have nothing to do with the business

None of this is intentional. Often, it’s simply because the signage system isn’t flexible or user-friendly enough to keep things current. When updating a screen involves USB drives, on-site uploads, or specialist tools, most people just stop bothering.

What modern digital signage looks like in action

The goal isn’t to turn your office into Times Square. It’s to make communication clearer, smoother, and more visible. Here are a few ways signage actually supports your business:

1. Wayfinding and first impressions

A guest walks into your office. Instead of seeing a blank screen or looping logo, they’re greeted with a dynamic floor map and clear signage showing where to go. Meeting rooms are color-coded and schedules are up to date. Nobody has to ask reception which floor they’re on — they already know.

On day one, a new employee sees a screen welcoming them by name and photo. It sets the tone for their experience and makes the space feel human, not corporate.

2. Culture and communication

Screens aren’t just for top-down updates. They’re for moments of connection.

A birthday screen lights up in the morning. A rotating message celebrates your team’s latest milestone. You walk into the break room and spot a screen showing the lunch menu or reminding you of Friday’s social event. These little touches build culture and help people feel part of something — especially in hybrid environments where not everyone is online at the same time.

3. Live data and productivity tools

When signage pulls live content from tools your teams already use, it becomes a natural part of the workflow.

A marketing dashboard on the wall shows campaign progress in real time. A Trello board on display gives managers instant visibility into project status. A world clock helps teams plan across time zones before jumping on a call. These aren’t bells and whistles — they’re quiet boosts to productivity, visibility, and autonomy.

4. Timely, contextual updates

You’re packing up to leave when you notice the screen near the elevator shows rain on the way. You grab an umbrella.

Or a screen in the hallway displays an emergency alert or IT downtime notice, updated instantly across every floor. With digital signage, relevant information reaches people at the right time, in the right place — without relying on email, chat, or manual distribution.

Digital signage isn’t for decorational purposes (only). It informs. It welcomes. It celebrates. It warns. It reminds. And when it updates in real time, it becomes a source of live information everyone can rely on.

Choosing a setup that doesn’t add friction

A good signage solution should be more than flexible. It should be effortless for the one managing the screens as well as for the viewer.

That means:

Centralized content control so IT or comms teams can push updates from anywhere, without having to visit each screen in person.

Support for the content you already use, like URLs, dashboards, Google Slides, videos, and custom signage templates.

Compatibility with your existing hardware. The best systems let you reuse the screens and peripherals you already have.

Cloud-based scheduling and content rotation. Set it and forget it—or change it instantly when needed.

Scalability. Whether you’re managing 5 screens or 500, the platform should grow with you.

Airtame makes this kind of signage easy. You can schedule and update signage from Airtame Cloud, reuse the screens you already have, and show rich, dynamic content without needing a separate CMS. One customer used it to share energy-saving stats across office locations. Another to display real-time dashboards and upcoming events.

Whatever you want to show, it doesn’t require IT intervention. That’s the point.

Wrapping up

Digital signage isn’t just a nice-to-have in a modern workplace. When it’s used right, it becomes a quiet but constant tool for communication. It reinforces priorities. It helps teams feel informed. And it makes the office feel more connected and dynamic — without adding more to anyone’s to-do list.

If you’re ready to make better use of the screens you already have, we’re happy to help.
